Libra-net (6): Donating science, culture and mental fitness
We organized a conference for kids, supported several events and festivals, even sponsored two LPs of Macedonian music. Plus a link for the next S(c)iesta with Bojan Pancevski.
1. Last weekend we organized the first science conference for children! Over 100 kids made their own hologram, played with magnets and asked questions about science topics. We also organized two online panels about the future of education, and celebrated with liquid nitrogen desserts and ‘cocktails’ in test-tubes. All of this was supported by donations from the S(c)iesta community, big thank you to everybody who donated their time, money and knowledge! Photos from the conference can be seen at the following link, and interviews about it can be found at Umno, Fakulteti, Telma, Republika, and many other news outlets.
2. We supported the opening of the Ethno club at the Institute for ethnology and anthropology at University Ss. Cyril and Methodius. More info at the link below, we hope many people will enjoy the lazy bags donated by our foundation:

3. We are sponsoring the upcoming Nihon-ji festival of Japanese culture, and Science for kids will make an appearance teaching kids to make origami-inspired hexaflexagons. Join us this Saturday at 11am in Public Room.
4. We made an appearance at the National book fare with a presentation about colors and CMYK printing. Check out this video to experience the atmosphere.
5. Toso Filipovski published two LPs documenting Macedonian dark wave and Macedonian new wave music from the 80s, and we are proud to support their release. We never thought our foundation would be working with a music label, yet here we are:)
6. Our next S(c)iesta will take place on Wednesday (May 25) at 8pm. Our guest will be Bojan Pancevski, Germany correspondent at the Wall Street Journal. The topic of our conversation will be the age of disinformation and how journalists can do a better job of communicating science to the public. The event will be live-streamed on our Facebook page, but our supporters can also join the Zoom link where they can ask questions and interact with Bojan live:
